The Staff at Pure Texture is happy to share with contractors some of our best concrete overlay tips. Feel free to overview them before beginning your next concrete overlay project.
- Never color a job without an approved sample board and have the coloring formulas written on the back of the board(and contract).
- Always degrease when you power-wash before you start your job.
- Never bridge score-lines, expansion joints, or any saw-cut expansion.
- Always address your crack-repair issues prior to starting the job.
- Never color an area that you cannot seal the same day.
- Never stop texturing an area that you cannot finish in one day;on large jobs, end your days work at an expansion joint or stopping point.
- Never leave filament tape on the project over night, pull your tape the same day.
- Always have the same one person mixing your liquid pigments.
- Always wear socks to walk on a newly finished surface when sealing.
- Always use ice-water when you mix in the heat of the summer.
- Always put your 3 qts resin, 3-4 qts water, mix add color, mix, then add powder; in that exact order every time.
- Never use a chalk-line, use the filament tape to stretch-out straight runs and right angles.
- Never bite off more then you can chew.
- Never under price yourself, for you will bastardize this industry.
